Register Key Mapping Feature From FiveM

INFORMATION

Our team has recently integrated the RegisterKeyMapping FiveM Documentation native into our project. This update eliminates the need for resource-intensive while loops that constantly check for keypresses. As a result, our resource is now more optimized and efficient. RegisterKeyMapping FiveM Documentation works by triggering a registered chat command when the associated keybind is pressed. This new approach also allows players to customize their own keybinds in-game. For instance, they can access the Open Gta5 settings > Key Bindings > FiveM menu to make changes.

How To Unbind Keys

After initiating the resource on your server for the first time, any changes made to the keybind in the config.lua will not affect players who have already joined. However, new players will have the updated keybinds. To unbind keys for your client, you have two options:

Option 1: Type "unbind keyboardinput_parameter" in F8.

Option 2: Navigate to C:\Users[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\CitizenFX, open fivem.cfg, and remove the lines with this resource name. Then restart FiveM. The keybinds will revert to the default values set in the config.

How To Disable KeyMapping

To disable KeyMapping, you can follow these steps:

  1. Unbind the keys using one of the methods described above.

  2. Disable the key in the config.lua.

  3. Rewrite the code to use the regular method of while loops checking for key presses IsControlJustReleased or other methods to trigger the events provided in our docs.

Notes: It's important to note that there is no way to mass unbind keys for all players on your server. For a full list of available keys, please refer to this link.
